Employee Health & Benefits Account Manager

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an Employee Health & Benefits Account Manager for its Florida region. This is a hybrid position based in one of the listed regional offices (Maitland, Tampa, Clearwater, Sarasota) and may require in-person client meetings. The Account Manager serves middle to large market group benefit accounts, handling day-to-day client correspondence and supporting renewals and enrollments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the annual planning timeline so that client deliverables such as Benefit Guides are ready on time.
• Lead, document and complete renewal implementation calls and paperwork, and hold carriers accountable for accuracy, timelines and service expectations.
• Maintain client information in the agency management system and keep electronic files up to date.
• Advocate for clients using carrier partners and support retention efforts.
• Produce and audit materials independently, and assist clients with administration, billing, claims and problem-solving questions.
• Project manage plan builds (Employee Navigator or Plan Source) for implementation and open enrollment, ensuring plan rules, rates and updates are accurate.
• Counsel clients on compliance deadlines such as Form 5500 filings, COBRA rate updates, ACA reporting, Annual Wrap Documents, Medicare Part D notices and CMS disclosure emails.
• Stay informed on new products and legislative changes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active, current Florida 2-15 insurance license.
• 2+ years of account management experience in an insurance agency.
• Detail-oriented, with strong time management, client relations, communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Plus: Bachelor's degree or higher, bilingual English/Spanish, experience with Employee Navigator, EPIC, BenefitPoint and/or ImageRight, and ability to travel occasionally overnight.
