Employee Health and Benefits Account Manager

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring an Account Manager for its McGriff Employee Health & Benefits team. You will support the Producer and Marketing Account Executive by marketing and servicing new and renewal business, while maintaining relationships with clients and carrier representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Be knowledgeable of coverages, carrier guidelines, underwriting and legislative changes
• Build and maintain client and carrier relationships by phone, email and in person
• Assist clients and teammates with questions on administration, billing, claims and problem solving
• Monitor and support the renewal process, recommend coverage needs and coordinate meetings to present renewals and alternative options
• Prepare marketing information and deliver all applicable forms to clients
• Update policies, log client meetings and carrier follow-up, and manage follow-ups in the client management system
• Provide administrative support for special projects and new ideas/services, and attend seminars, classes and carrier meetings

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
• Two years of relevant insurance industry experience
• Appropriate insurance license(s)
• Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
• Strong client relations, communication and service skills

A plus: advanced degree, certification in the field, and experience with Requests for Proposals.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Use of client management systems
