Employee Health and Wellness Program Director

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an experienced leader to direct its Employee Health and Wellness Program. Reporting to the Director of Employee Support, you will shape and deliver a comprehensive wellness strategy for faculty and staff across multiple campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evaluate a university‑wide health and wellness program aligned with strategic goals.
• Coordinate wellness activities, screenings, mental‑health resources, and fitness initiatives.
• Manage program budget, vendor relationships, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with HR, occupational health, and campus partners to integrate wellness into employee life.
• Collect and analyze participation data to continuously improve program effectiveness.
• Provide occasional after‑hours support, travel to satellite campuses, and represent the university at community events.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience leading health, wellness, or employee‑wellbeing programs, preferably in higher education or large organizations.
• Strong project‑management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work Monday‑Friday, 8 am‑5 pm, with flexibility for evenings or weekends as needed.
