Emergency Room RN – PRN with $8/hr Specialty Pay

About the role

Cabinet Peaks Medical Center is seeking a PRN Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care in a fast‑paced emergency department. The role includes triage, patient assessment, coordination of care, and communication with physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Perform head‑to‑toe assessments, including pediatric and geriatric patients, and reassess as needed.
• Administer medications safely following the six rights and perform point‑of‑care testing.
• Assist providers with procedures, coordinate patient flow, and document care per policy.
• Communicate changes in patient status to physicians and respond promptly to clinical emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Montana with BCLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum two years of emergency department experience and successful completion of orientation.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) to be obtained within six months of hire.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) preferred within twelve months.
• Proficiency with computer order entry and patient registration applications.
