Emergency Department Registered Nurse

About the role

The Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center, is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide 24/7 critical care. You will work day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm, delivering direct patient care and education while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to emergency patients, including assessment, medication administration, and treatment implementation.
• Develop, monitor, and update patient care plans in coordination with physicians and other caregivers.
• Document patient conditions accurately and communicate changes to the care team.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN, or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure.
• At least one year of acute‑care or Emergency Department experience (military RN experience considered).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within one year).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (or obtain within one year).
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) for adults or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) for pediatrics (obtain within one year).
