Electrician Maintenance

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Electrician Maintenance for the North of Las Vegas area. The role covers installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment used for generating, distributing or utilising electric energy, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit systems. The position is covered by a Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, maintain and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units and conduit systems.
• Install, test, maintain and repair fire safety and security systems, such as fire alarms and suppression systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults from blueprints, drawings and layouts, and replace worn or defective parts such as switches, pumps, bearings, belts, gears, blowers and wiring.
• Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery, calibrate timers and thermostats, clean parts and adjust contact points.
• Work with minimal supervision, respond to service calls within the allowed time frame and take part in the Quality Control and Safety Program.
• Follow the Lock-out/Tag-out program, perform daily checks on the company vehicle and lift up to 75 lbs.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience as an electrician, gained through training and/or a formal apprenticeship.
• Valid state-issued driver's licence and ability to obtain and retain a security clearance.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work under pressure, and lift up to 75 lbs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrician hand tools, fire alarm technician tools and measuring and testing equipment.
• Reading blueprints and drawings, and performing load calculations for wiring.
• Proficiency with personal computers, printers, calculators and other office equipment.
