Electrical Engineer – Building Engineering Services

About the role

HDR is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Building Engineering Services Group. You will design critical infrastructure that supports modern digital environments, from high‑performance data centers to dynamic commercial spaces, helping to drive sustainability and technological advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical design through all project phases, from concept to construction.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, architects, other engineering disciplines, contractors, and marketing teams.
• Develop construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations, and respond to RFIs.
• Review shop drawings, conduct site investigations, and provide construction administration support.
• Prepare detailed design and coordination using BIM/CADD platforms.
• Select equipment and devices via vendor software and communicate with sales representatives.
• Track design budgets and perform load calculations.
• Attend design meetings and support multidisciplinary team collaboration.
• Guide Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists throughout project development.
