Rigger (Memphis Branch)

About the role

The Rigger will support Barnhart Crane & Rigging’s Memphis branch by aligning, leveling, and anchoring cranes and equipment, as well as assembling and installing supporting structures. This role ensures safe and efficient movement of heavy loads in confined spaces.

Key responsibilities

• Align, level, and anchor cranes and equipment.
• Assemble and install supporting structures, rigging, hoist and pulling gear.
• Connect pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using bolts, shackles, and clamps.
• Control movements of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces.
• Dismantle, maintain, and store rigging equipment.
• Manipulate rigging lines and hoists to move or support steel and concrete materials.
• Select gears, cables, and shackles according to load size and work schedule.
• Signal or give direction to workers to ensure safety during hoisting and moving loads.
• Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability before lifting operations.

Required profile

• Excellent mechanical reasoning.
• Strong math skills for weight, measurement, and balance calculations.
• Flexible schedule, able to travel and work overtime.
• Pass drug test, fit for duty assessment, and background check.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
