EKG Technician – Evening Shift

About the role

The EKG Technician works evenings (3:00 pm‑11:30 pm) at Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, supporting cardiac testing across multiple clinical settings. The role involves close collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, and the Adult Medical Emergency Team to ensure accurate and timely electrocardiogram results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms and position leads on patients.
• Review patient records, instruct patients before the procedure, and monitor them during testing.
• Identify and correct wandering, interference, and artifacts to ensure high‑quality recordings.
• Edit and forward results to the attending physician for interpretation.
• Maintain EKG equipment and manage supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience in direct patient care or customer service in a hospital setting, OR completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology, paramedic, or medical assisting program.
• Physical ability to assist patients, transport equipment, and stand for extended periods.

Required skills

• Electrocardiogram (EKG) testing and lead placement.
• Artifact identification and correction.
• Use of electrocardiograph machines and related equipment.
