Drafter I

About the role

The Drafter I will create accurate working plans, assembly drawings, and detail drawings from sketches or notes, collaborating with engineering staff. The role involves maintaining drawing standards and supporting various internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Produce final design drawings using CAD software, ensuring correct dimensions, materials, and part relationships.
• Apply ASME, ANSI, Mil‑Std, and internal drawing standards.
• Process drawing changes via ECNs, SCNs, and other change notices.
• Interpret BOMs, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic schematics, and P&IDs.
• Model and document finished designs from sketches, notes, and calculations.

Required profile

• Associate degree or 1‑4 years related experience in drafting or engineering.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, OrCAD, or DraftSite preferred.
• Ability to work in an ISO9000 quality environment and follow related procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD equipment and software (SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, OrCAD, DraftSite).
• Understanding of drawing standards (ASME, ANSI, Mil‑Std).
• Ability to read BOMs, schematics, and P&IDs.
