Distinguished Research Fellow – Computer Sciences

About the role

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University seeks a Distinguished Research Fellow to establish and lead an independent research program. The role involves designing, executing, and overseeing a comprehensive research agenda while securing external funding.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage a full research program, including grant writing and budget oversight.
• Recruit, mentor, and supervise PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Serve on external program committees and build collaborations with industry, government, and nonprofit partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field by the start date.
• Strong record of influential publications, inventions, or equivalent scholarly contributions.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including supervisory and budgetary responsibilities.

Required skills

• Experience in securing external research funding.
• Ability to lead interdisciplinary research teams.
