Director/VP of People – Pre-IPO AI Company

About the role

We are a fast‑growing AI company preparing for an IPO and looking for a senior People leader to become the #1 HR professional in the organization. You will partner directly with the CEO and the executive team to shape our people strategy as we scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and evolve the HR Business Partner function into a strategic partner across Product, Engineering, GTM, Ops and other teams.
• Build strong relationships with executives and managers, serving as a trusted advisor.
• Partner with talent leadership on long‑term workforce planning and talent strategy.
• Drive organizational design initiatives that support rapid growth.
• Oversee all core HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, and employee relations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in hyper‑scale technology companies, preferably with pre‑to‑post IPO exposure.
• Proven track record of building and leading People/HR functions and organizations.
• “Builder” mentality – comfortable thriving in chaotic, high‑growth environments.
• Open to non‑traditional HR backgrounds (e.g., law or finance professionals pivoting to people leadership).
