Director of Student Conduct

About the role

The Director of Student Conduct leads the university‑wide conduct and judicial processes for students and student organizations at Fresno State. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and the Dean of Students, this senior position ensures fair, consistent handling of conduct cases and provides guidance on student behavior across campus.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the Student Code of Conduct and Title V processes, including investigation, adjudication, and recommendation of sanctions.
• Oversee conduct cases involving individual students, Greek Life, and student organizations, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with university policies and state regulations.
• Collaborate with University Legal Counsel, the Chancellor’s Office, Police Department, Counseling Services, Disability Services, academic deans, and other campus units.
• Provide faculty and staff with advice, educational resources, and training related to student behavior and conduct policies.
• Prepare research, data analyses, and reports to support decision‑making and policy development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in student personnel administration, higher education administration, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in student conduct or a comparable role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem‑solving, mediation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and the capacity to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
