About the role

Northeastern University is seeking a Director of Social Media to lead its global social media strategy. This senior leader will shape brand presence across platforms, drive audience engagement, and use data‑driven insights to inform creative content.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute platform‑specific strategies for a global team spanning multiple cities and countries.
• Oversee 24/7 social media monitoring, analytics, and reporting, providing timely alerts and trend insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with editorial, photography, video, and media relations teams to translate news into social‑first content.
• Set brand standards, governance guidelines, and crisis response protocols across the university’s social channels.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience creating and executing social media strategies for brands, with a proven record of meeting ambitious engagement goals.
• Demonstrated ability to lead creator teams across time zones and manage global collaboration.
• Strong analytical mindset, comfortable using data to drive decisions and measure performance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Sprinklr or comparable social media analytics platforms.
• Experience leveraging AI‑powered tools for content creation, strategy development, and performance tracking.
