Director of Finance & Corporate Controller

About the role

NexCure is seeking a seasoned finance leader to build and run its accounting and finance function from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO and working alongside a fractional CFO, you will shape the financial backbone of a fast‑growing cell‑therapy delivery company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close and consolidation across a multi‑entity MSO/PC structure.
• Manage revenue‑cycle accounting for high‑cost cell therapies, including payer receivables, reserves and drug‑cost accounting.
• Oversee cash management, treasury operations and 13‑week cash forecasting.
• Drive the company’s first financial‑statement audit and design internal controls.
• Select and implement an ERP system (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite).
• Develop budgeting, rolling forecasts, board/investor reporting and KPI dashboards.
• Recruit, build and lead the accounting team as the business scales.

Required profile

• CPA with a public‑accounting background and in‑house finance leadership experience in a multi‑site healthcare environment.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a controllership or assistant‑controller role.
• Expertise in multi‑entity consolidation and MSO/PC accounting.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare revenue‑cycle processes, payer receivables and high‑cost drug accounting.
• Builder’s mindset – comfortable designing systems and executing day‑to‑day tasks.
