Director of Faculty Affairs

About the role

The Director of Faculty Affairs leads the Faculty Affairs office for the Vashisht College of Medicine, overseeing all aspects of faculty lifecycle and support across multiple campuses. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean, the role ensures smooth recruitment, hiring, onboarding, evaluation, promotion, and retirement processes for faculty and adjunct clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a team that manages faculty recruitment, hiring, onboarding, annual and mid‑term reviews, promotion, tenure, and retirement.
• Oversee administration of approximately 2,500 adjunct affiliate clinical faculty, including appointments, evaluations, credentialing, and promotions.
• Maintain and update the Affiliate Faculty Portal and related databases.
• Coordinate faculty professional‑development workshops, shared‑governance committees, awards, recognition, and wellness initiatives.
• Provide accurate reporting for endowed chairs, emeritus status, and other College‑wide metrics.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in academic HR or faculty affairs within a health‑science or university setting.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex faculty populations and multi‑site operations.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping skills with attention to compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior leadership, faculty, and clinical partners.

Required skills

• Experience with faculty management software or database systems.
• Knowledge of academic promotion, tenure, and credentialing processes.
