Director of Communications

About the role

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a Director of Communications to support the Senior Associate AD for Marketing and Communications in managing the Division I Athletics communications program. This role serves as the primary media contact for men’s basketball and oversees all broadcasting and digital marketing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise between the athletic department and media outlets; write and edit news releases, media guides, and game notes.
• Maintain statistics, records, photo archives, and manage the Little Rock Athletics website.
• Develop and execute digital marketing campaigns and oversee branding, vendor relationships, and compliance with NCAA and conference regulations.
• Coordinate broadcasting operations, including ESPN+ and radio networks, and travel with men’s basketball as the primary contact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least two years of experience in sports information or athletic media relations.
• Ability to work nights and weekends during the academic year and travel with teams.

Required skills

• Experience with TAS Software.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
