Director of Banquets

About the role

The Director of Banquets will lead high‑volume event operations at Sea Crest Beach Resort, ensuring every guest experience and large‑scale function runs smoothly in a fast‑paced resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, discipline banquet staff.
• Maintain positive guest relationships and ensure banquet functions meet guest specifications.
• Supervise set‑up of function rooms, ensuring cleanliness, proper inventory, and compliance with regulations.
• Oversee serving staff to ensure adherence to federal, state, local, and corporate policies, especially regarding alcoholic beverage service.
• Manage cash handling, billing entry into the POS system, and ensure SOX compliance.
• Adjust staff schedules and server stations to provide quality service during functions.
• Conduct ongoing training to uphold service standards and follow sustainability guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of banquet experience.
• Ability to work varied schedules, including holidays, weekends, and alternate shifts.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lb, and perform other manual tasks.

Required skills

• Experience with point‑of‑sale (POS) billing systems.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and SOX compliance.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations for alcoholic beverage service.
