Director, IT Business Operations

About the role

The Director of IT Business Operations leads the strategic and financial efficiency of IT functions within the Office of the CIO. This senior leader ensures IT investments align with business objectives and drives operational excellence across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT business operations strategies that support enterprise goals and digital transformation initiatives.
• Establish governance frameworks, policies, and best practices for financial and operational management.
• Define and track KPIs, create dashboards, and drive data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead process‑improvement, automation, and workflow standardization initiatives.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the CIO and mentor IT operations teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT business operations, financial management, or governance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in IT financial planning, cost optimization, and Technology Business Management (TBM).
• Strong analytical, strategic planning, and stakeholder‑management abilities.

• ITIL framework knowledge.
• Technology Business Management (TBM) methodology.
• Vendor management, procurement, and contract negotiation.
• Advanced IT analytics and reporting tools.
