Direct Support Professional – Special Needs Caregiver

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide one‑on‑one support for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in Lincolnton, NC and surrounding areas. You will act as a mentor, companion, and caregiver, helping clients achieve their full potential in home and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal care assistance such as dressing, grooming, and hygiene support.
• Assist clients with daily tasks including meal preparation and medication reminders.
• Accompany clients to errands, appointments, and community integration activities.
• Engage clients in their favorite hobbies and recreational activities.
• Help lift, reposition, and ensure the safety of clients during transfers.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience working with individuals who have intellectual or developmental disabilities (training available through an apprenticeship program if needed).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
