Direct Care Worker – Community Home Care

About the role

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking Direct Care Workers to provide personal and home‑care services to adults in the Harrisburg area. You will work in clients' homes, helping them with daily activities and ensuring a safe, supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, toileting, and oral feeding.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks, laundry, meal preparation, and bed making.
• Support mobility through ambulation assistance, transfers, and use of mechanical lifting devices.
• Conduct vital sign checks (temperature, pulse, respiration) and range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Provide medication assistance and basic nail care.

Required profile

• Successfully complete BAYADA’s 40‑hour Direct Care Worker training program.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality care in a home setting.

Required skills

• Basic personal care techniques (bathing, grooming, toileting).
• Ability to perform light housekeeping and meal preparation.
• Knowledge of safe transfer methods and use of mechanical lifting devices.
