Diesel Mechanic

About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking Diesel Mechanics for its Danville, IL Service Center. The position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday with various shifts, offering a competitive hourly wage and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day equipment maintenance on a fleet of Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs, including work on trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs, work with AC and electrical systems, and lift up to 50 lb.
• Must have own tools; 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.

Required skills

• Diesel engine maintenance (Cummins & Detroit engines preferred).
• AC and electrical system troubleshooting.
• Use of Cetaris for work orders and trailer preventative maintenance.
