About the role
The Illinois Department of Transportation is hiring temporary Snow Removal Operators for the 2026/2027 winter season. Operators work on‑call to keep state highways clear of snow and ice across multiple districts in southern Illinois.
Key responsibilities
- Perform snow and ice removal on state highways and related structures during the winter season.
- Work on an as‑needed, on‑call basis from mid‑October through mid‑April, depending on weather conditions.
Required profile
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
- Bilingual skills are welcome; applicants must be able to work flexible, on‑call hours.
