Diesel Mechanic – Heavy Equipment Maintenance

About the role

Join Barnhart Crane & Rigging as a Diesel Mechanic, maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy equipment and ensuring safe, efficient operations. You’ll work both in the shop and on‑site, enjoying a mix of stability and variety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, cranes, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems, including onboard computer diagnostics.
• Operate independently while collaborating with the team, managing daily workload.
• Travel occasionally to support field service needs.

Required profile

• 1–3+ years of diesel or heavy‑equipment mechanic experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Willingness to work safely in a fast‑paced environment and travel as needed.

• Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
