About the role
R+L Carriers is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for its Birmingham, AL Service Center. This full‑time position involves maintaining and repairing Class 8 trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor to major repairs on diesel engines.
- Service Class 8 trucks, trailers, forklifts, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies.
- Handle AC and electrical system repairs.
- Utilize Cetaris for work orders and manage trailer PMs.
Required profile
- 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lb and possess personal tools.
- Experience with Cummins and Detroit engines.
Required skills
- Preventive maintenance on diesel engines
- Air‑conditioning repair
- Electrical system troubleshooting
- Use of Cetaris work‑order software
- Trailer preventive maintenance and repairs
