In-House Driver Trainer

About the role

As an In-House Driver Trainer, you will prepare and conduct training programs for current and newly hired drivers across all Dot Transportation locations, supporting the Driver Training Program and ensuring safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assign new drivers to trainers and monitor progress in coordination with local transportation management.
• Conduct recurrent accident training and Federal Highway Administration Hours of Service training.
• Maintain driver training curriculum, develop course materials, and create evaluation tests.
• Assist with pre‑hire road‑trip evaluations and coordinate OSHA‑required driver power‑equipment training and certifications.
• Support job fairs, recruiting programs, and community safety awareness initiatives.
• Apply lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in training processes.

Required profile

• Class A CDL with hazardous endorsement or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities.
