Diagnostic Technologist II – Weekend

About the role

The Diagnostic Technologist II works weekends to provide high‑quality radiologic imaging under physician direction while adhering to radiation safety standards. The position supports patient care at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Cedar Crest and contributes to the network’s reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Produce diagnostic‑quality images, process them, and ensure they are ready for radiologist interpretation.
• Apply radiation protection measures, document exposure factors, collimation, and maintain safety logs.
• Verify physician orders, attach images to correct patient records, and confirm study completion in PACS.
• Report equipment issues, assist with training of new staff, and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma or graduate of an accredited Radiography program (less than 1 year experience acceptable).
• Ability to handle confidential patient information ethically and solve problems independently.
• Physical ability to lift 40‑50 lb, stand for long periods, and transport patients as needed.

Required skills

• Radiography and image acquisition techniques.
• Radiation safety and protection protocols.
• Use of PACS for image management.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association).
• Registered Technologist – Radiology (Pennsylvania state license).
