Diagnostic Technologist (Fluoroscopy)

About the role

SUNY Stony Brook Anaesthesiology, UFPC is hiring a Diagnostic Fluoroscopy Technologist in Lake Grove, NY, working full time Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. The technologist delivers high-quality, individualized direct patient care and supports interventional pain procedures in the department of anesthesia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiological (fluoroscopy) procedures at a technical level.
• Position patients correctly (prone vs. spine, cervical headrest) and align the C-arm for interventional pain procedures.
• Ensure the "time out" procedure is observed and select appropriate technical factors for each patient.
• Select and operate equipment as directed and provide protection according to safety standards.
• Practice sterile technique, prevent cross-contamination and maintain adequate records.
• Take responsibility for designated areas or procedures, and act as acting supervisor when needed.
• Assist with first aid, conduct periodic quality control tests and participate in research, in-service programs and annual recertification, compliance and HIPAA training.

Required profile

• High school diploma and graduation from an accredited radiology program.
• Licensed by the State of New York in Diagnostic Radiology and ARRT registered.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association, or able to obtain it within 3 months of employment.
• One year of radiology experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills.
