Destination Services Specialist

About the role

The Destination Services Specialist supports sales managers, meeting planners, and tour operators to ensure successful meetings, conventions, events, and tours in Southwest Louisiana. The role coordinates all services offered by Visit Lake Charles and seeks new service opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate services for booked meetings, conventions, events, and tours, including name badges, registration assistants, welcome bags, and promotional materials.
• Assist sales managers with site visits and familiarization tours, developing itineraries, booking activities, and managing communications.
• Develop and maintain curated lists of entertainment, catering, transportation, photographers, and dining options for clients.
• Hire, train, and manage part‑time personnel such as registration assistants and Gumbeaux Gator performers, and maintain costumes and accessories.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance service offerings by building relationships with local attractions and businesses.
• Provide sales and service analytics to the VP of Sales for board reporting.
• Maintain accurate notes in the CRM system to keep account managers informed.
• Create custom itineraries and ensure smooth execution of major client tours, including weekend or evening events.
• Arrange and manage special tours of the Creole Nature Trail, historic districts, and other organized attractions.
