About the role

The Decision Research Scientist at Rwazi works at the intersection of research and application, turning abstract decision theory into practical system improvements for enterprise decision intelligence. The role focuses on applied decision research rather than academic isolation.

Key responsibilities

• Design formal decision frameworks for complex enterprise problems, modeling trade‑offs, uncertainty and signal ambiguity.
• Advance structured reasoning methodologies and test new decision architectures in live or simulated environments.
• Translate research insights into system‑ready primitives and provide formal specifications to product and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with research engineers to prototype concepts and advise leadership on long‑term decision capability evolution.

Required profile

• Strong grounding in decision theory, systems modeling, or applied reasoning.
• Experience formalizing ambiguous problems into structured frameworks and working with AI reasoning architectures.
• Ability to design and evaluate controlled experiments with rigorous metrics.
• Intellectual independence, systems thinking, and a background in applied AI research, quantitative modeling, computational social science, economics, operations research, or advanced analytics.
