About the role

The Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences provides academic and administrative leadership for a vibrant college serving roughly 800 undergraduate and graduate students. Reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean shapes strategic direction, ensures academic excellence, and fosters a supportive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the college’s strategic plan in alignment with university goals.
• Oversee curriculum development, program accreditation, and assessment across Arts & Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science & Mathematics.
• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty while promoting research, scholarship, and professional development.
• Manage the college’s budget, allocate resources, and pursue external funding opportunities.
• Represent the college to internal and external stakeholders, including community partners and alumni.
• Lead initiatives that enhance student success, diversity, and inclusion.

Required profile

• Terminal academic degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Proven senior academic leadership experience, preferably as a department chair, associate dean, or similar role.
• Strong record of scholarship, teaching, and service.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, personnel, and complex academic programs.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
