Data Scientist (Intelligence Analytics)

About the role

Leidos is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join a multidisciplinary team of mission-focused analysts and reporters. The role applies machine learning and advanced analytics to sparse, noisy and adversarial datasets to support predictive intelligence and deliver operational impact, using techniques such as deep learning, graph analytics and anomaly detection.

Key responsibilities

• Develop machine learning models to extract insights from large, complex intelligence datasets.
• Translate analytic questions into technical requirements and data-driven solutions.
• Characterize and assess datasets in varying states of structure and quality.
• Recommend technical approaches based on evolving intelligence capabilities and constraints.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and support automated analytics workflow development.

Required profile

• Active TS/SCI with polygraph required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, AI/ML, Data Science, Operations Research or a related technical field with 10 years of relevant experience; an Associate's degree with 12 years may be considered.
• Other degrees with strong coursework in advanced math, statistics, AI/ML, computer science or data mining, or relevant certifications (Data Science, AI/ML), will also be considered.
• Ability to turn complex data into actionable insights and communicate across teams.
• Preferred: experience supporting intelligence or cyber operations missions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and C++ (or similar languages).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Python libraries.
