Data Scientist, Finance

About the role

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, automating the flow of billions of dollars across thousands of companies. As a Finance Data Scientist you will develop full‑stack data products that power financial insights and decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy full‑stack models that ingest, transform, and expose data to stakeholders and production systems.
• Drive experimental design, testing, and best practices across the data team.
• Collaborate with finance groups (e.g., GTM Finance, StratFin) to generate actionable financial insights.
• Partner with data engineering to capture, move, store, and transform raw data into actionable insights.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Data Science, Software Engineering, or Finance.
• Strong AI proficiency and a track record of shipping high‑quality products at scale.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Familiarity with financial metrics and processes (e.g., contribution profit, financial statements).

Required skills

• Advanced SQL knowledge (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and ability to write efficient queries.
• Experience with modern data stack tools such as Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Hightouch.
• Proficiency with BI tools (Looker, Omni, Sigma, Hex) for reporting and dashboards.
