Data Protection Specialist Expert

About the role

The Data Protection Specialist Expert will lead the development and enforcement of cybersecurity policies and strategies across Lehigh Valley Health Network, protecting digital assets from threats and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI‑driven security and IoT protection and integrate them into enterprise defense strategies.
• Perform real‑time monitoring of networks, endpoints, and cloud environments using SIEM and EDR tools.
• Conduct threat intelligence analysis, including dark‑web monitoring and emerging attack techniques.
• Lead technical investigations of complex security incidents and remediate vulnerabilities in applications, networks, and cloud environments.
• Ensure implementations align with HIPAA, PCI DSS, and NIST CSF requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of related experience or 7 years with a relevant degree.
• Experience mentoring teams and leading complex security initiatives.
• On‑call availability outside regular hours to respond to urgent issues.

Required skills

• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, TTPs, and advanced persistent threats (APTs).
• Expertise securing Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments, including identity and access management.
• Knowledge of forensic methodologies, malware analysis, and chain‑of‑custody principles.
• Certifications: CISSP, CISM.
