Data Collector / Enumerator for NJ Youth Tobacco Survey

About the role

AdNet/AccountNet, Inc. is hiring temporary Data Collectors to administer the New Jersey Youth Tobacco Survey (NJYTS) in public high schools across northern New Jersey during October‑December 2026. You will work on‑site in selected classrooms, guiding students through a web‑based questionnaire and recording participation rates.

Key responsibilities

• Attend mandatory two‑day training at Rutgers University in early October.
• Visit assigned schools up to four days per week for 6‑8 weeks, arriving as early as 6 a.m. when required.
• Administer the web survey to 9‑12 grade students, ensuring proper completion and data integrity.
• Enter daily school participation rates online and communicate any issues to your supervisor.

Required profile

• Access to internet, personal email, and a cell phone for daily communication.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a background check.
• Professional appearance, strong verbal communication, and comfort speaking in front of groups.
• Physical ability to lift and carry survey supplies up to 25 lb and punctuality for early morning arrivals.

Required skills

• Basic technological literacy: use of computer or tablet, internet navigation, web applications, email, and file attachment.
• Experience in field data collection or survey research (preferred).
• Experience working with adolescents in a school setting (preferred).
