Crop Claims Specialist / Field Adjuster (California)

About the role

Zurich's Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) is seeking a Crop Claims Specialist or Crop Field Adjuster to join its team supporting farmers and ranchers across the United States. The position is remote with a requirement to reside within 50 miles of San Jaquin County, California.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise judgment to determine liability and coverage by gathering and analyzing claim facts.
• Participate in Risk Management Agency reviews and referrals to ensure operational integrity.
• Maintain confidentiality of claim information and protect Zurich’s reputation.
• Stay current with industry trends through education and professional networks.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience in agriculture or crop insurance.
• Reliable personal transportation for travel within the assigned territory.
• Physical ability to walk up to 3 miles in fields, climb to 25 ft, and lift 25‑50 lb.

Required skills

• Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication.
• Organizational, multitasking and prioritization abilities.
