Cook – Healthcare Facility

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join Pawnee Nation Behavioral Health. In this role you will prepare nutritious meals that support patient recovery while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to approved menus and dietary guidelines.
• Coordinate daily kitchen operations and meal service under the Culinary Director’s direction.
• Plan menus in collaboration with the Culinary Director and dietitian resources.
• Order food, beverages, and supplies while managing inventory levels.
• Monitor food costs, minimize waste, and follow FIFO inventory practices.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain temperature logs for food storage and equipment.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, workstations, dining areas, and storage spaces.
• Accommodate physician‑ordered and special dietary needs.
• Observe patients during meal service and communicate concerns to the clinical team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and customer‑service skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to read recipes, menus, and production schedules.

Required skills

• ServeSafe Food Handler or Food Manager certification (or ability to obtain).
• Food safety and sanitation expertise.
• FIFO inventory management.
