About the role

Bustle Digital Group is looking for an experienced Controller to lead its finance function. The role combines hands‑on accounting, process improvement, and strategic partnership with senior leadership in a fast‑paced media environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee month‑end close, prepare financial statements and advanced reconciliations while reducing days to close.
• Manage daily cash flow, forecasting, bank balances and ensure sufficient liquidity.
• Partner with FP&A, Ad Revenue Operations, the CFO and CEO to align reporting, forecasting and strategic decisions.
• Lead the annual audit and prepare supporting documentation for audited financial statements.
• Review reconciliations and journal entries, produce variance analyses and maintain thorough documentation.
• Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering growth and high performance.
• Prepare financial decks for quarterly and ad‑hoc Board of Director meetings.
• Oversee tax compliance and state tax filings.
• Identify and solve complex problems, driving continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• CPA with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 10‑15 years of experience, combining public accounting and private industry exposure.
• Strong technical accounting expertise in revenue recognition, complex transactions and stock‑based compensation.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with executives and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Detail‑oriented, proactive and capable of critical thinking.
