Controller – Financial Reporting & Accounting Lead

About the role

The company, a fast‑growing private‑equity‑backed organization headquartered in Atlanta, is creating a new Controller position to strengthen its financial infrastructure and support continued growth. This hands‑on accounting leader will partner with executive leadership, drive process improvements, and play a key role in acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Design and implement scalable accounting processes, internal controls, and automation initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to enhance financial visibility through reporting and analytics.
• Support ERP optimization and future system implementations.
• Participate in acquisition due diligence, integration, purchase accounting, and post‑acquisition reporting.
• Coordinate annual audits, manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders, and ensure compliance with tax requirements.
