Payroll Clerk

About the role

Silearth is looking for a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join its finance team on a full‑time basis. The role is based in either Utah or Tennessee and focuses on processing accurate, timely payroll for all employees.

Key responsibilities

• Process company payrolls on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly schedule.
• Calculate wages, overtime, commissions, bonuses and manage deductions such as taxes, benefits and garnishments.
• Verify time‑keeping records and resolve any discrepancies with managers.
• Maintain confidential employee payroll records with precision.
• Respond to employee queries regarding pay, deductions, and related matters.
• Prepare regular payroll reports for management review.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll and tax regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar payroll‑focused role.
• Strong understanding of US payroll legislation and tax regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent numerical accuracy, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• A relevant qualification in accounting, finance or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
