Consultative Inside Sales Representative - HVAC Systems

About the role

Alpine Home Air Products, which has sold heating and cooling equipment online for more than 20 years through its Blueridge brand, is hiring a consultative inside sales representative. The role helps homeowners and contractors choose the right HVAC system, using proprietary design tools to build recommendations. No prior HVAC experience is needed, as comprehensive product and system-design training is provided. The position is remote or hybrid, Chicago-based.

Key responsibilities

• Speak with homeowners and contractors by phone or video, asking about the property, project, comfort needs and budget
• Use design software to develop system recommendations and explain technical concepts in everyday language
• Guide customers in comparing cost, comfort, efficiency, aesthetics, installation complexity and long-term value
• Answer objections and follow up with customers to move qualified leads toward purchase
• Prepare accurate design summaries so orders can be finalized correctly
• Balance sales results with design quality and the long-term customer experience

Required profile

• Experience in consultative sales, inside sales, customer success, project consulting or another customer-facing role
• Comfortable guiding a conversation and asking for a decision
• Enjoys learning how products and systems work and simplifying technical information without oversimplifying it
• Organized when several options or project details are involved, takes ownership of follow-up and results
• Comfortable using software and learning new tools
• Experience with HVAC, home improvement, appliances, construction products or other high-consideration purchases is helpful but not required
