Construction Superintendent – Home Building

About the role

D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder, is seeking a dedicated Superintendent to oversee the construction of multiple residential homes from permit to closing. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality homes on schedule while ensuring an excellent customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the construction schedule for each home, coordinating all subcontractors and ensuring work complies with local, state, and federal building codes.
• Inspect subcontractor workmanship, halt non‑compliant work, and authorize payments after thorough verification.
• Conduct homeowner orientations, walk‑throughs, and maintain regular communication on project progress.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and visually appealing worksite and community throughout construction.
• Oversee post‑close warranty processes, assess requests, schedule repairs, and ensure quality assurance.
• Collaborate with sales, warranty, and management teams to resolve issues proactively.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and construction standards.
• Ability to supervise multiple subcontractors and enforce quality standards.
• Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
