Computer Technician

About the role

AMAX, a manufacturer of GPU-accelerated IT infrastructure, is hiring a Computer Technician in Fremont. The technician assembles components, scans serial numbers into the manufacturing shop floor system, performs equipment maintenance and repairs, and provides technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble components by checking connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies
• Scan component serial numbers into the manufacturing shop floor system for tracking
• Perform equipment maintenance tasks such as burn-in cables, test cables and repairs where applicable
• Operate test equipment, testers, scanners, computers and similar devices
• Repair computer hardware and servers as required
• Provide technical assistance and resolution as needed

Required profile

• High school or college diploma
• Experience in the electronic or computer industry
• Able to read and understand assembly instructions, production orders and process documentation
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and communicate verbally and in writing
• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat and reach, and lift, carry, push and pull up to 40 lbs

• Handling hand tools and light power tools
• Reading and following assembly instructions and production orders
