- Advise partners, attorneys and the Global Compliance Team on identifying and resolving conflicts of interest, including legal, ethical and commercial considerations.
- Supervise the workflows and work products of at least two Compliance Analysts.
- Manage a docket of 15 to 30 outstanding conflict matters and prepare conflict reports for prospective lateral hires.
- Resolve conflict issues arising from new matter intake, lateral hires, business development and practice development projects.
- Assist with enforcement and compliance issues covering stock and share dealings, external appointments, bribery and corruption, economic sanctions, anti-money laundering and, to some extent, cyber security.
- Liaise daily with the Compliance teams in Australia, Canada, South Africa and other regions.
- Analyze directorship and trusteeship conflicts, review client relationship letters and deal with questions on share-dealing policies.
Required profile
- Licensed to practice law in one or more states where the firm has an office (particularly Texas, New York, California and the District of Columbia).
- Attorney experience and a thorough working knowledge of US conflicts rules.
- Ability to supervise two analysts; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Full familiarity with a lawyer's duties of confidentiality, privilege and client care.
Required skills
- Excellent commercial judgment, strong written and oral communication and risk-based judgment.
- Ability to anticipate problems and propose solutions, and to work with all levels including partners.
- Ability to operate in a multi-cultural environment.
What we offer
- Base annual salary of $135,000 to $165,000 in the California, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, New York and Washington, DC markets; other markets vary.
- Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, plus pre-tax accounts and a 401(k) and profit-sharing plan.
- Paid time off of at least 20 days, 11 firm holidays, parental leave of at least 14 weeks and child-care support.
