Community Specialist
Nofence · Minneapolis
Job description
About the role
Nofence builds a virtual fencing solution for livestock, with a solar-powered collar that connects to an app over the cellular network. Its Nofence Community is a network of livestock producers who share what works on their operations, and this role is the person who helps it grow. The Community Specialist is a new full-time position on the US commercial team, combining community building, grassroots organizing and partner program operations.
Key responsibilities
- Mobilize and motivate producers in person and online, recognize leaders and support local partnerships with extension services, conservation groups and farmer networks.
- Plan and run grassroots events, represent Nofence at key conferences and handle training, operations and logistics.
- Identify, recruit and onboard producer ambassadors, act as their main point of contact and keep the program running.
- Use data to track community health, identify where to focus efforts and turn producer feedback into actionable recommendations.
- Work cross-functionally with growth, sales, marketing, customer success and product teams.
Required profile
- Background in grassroots organizing or a related field; practical experience counts as much as formal qualifications.
- Experience working directly with farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
- Strong organizational skills, comfort with data and event organizing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, especially on social media, and a proactive, self-directed style.
- Comfortable traveling to farms, events and team gatherings.
- Ideal: knowledge of agriculture and livestock, experience with ambassador, affiliate or referral programs, and experience growing or moderating an online community.
Required skills
- CRM tools (HubSpot preferred)
- Google Workspace
- Basic data tracking
