Commercial Operations & Systems Deputy Scheduler

About the role

BASF is seeking a Commercial Operations & Systems Deputy Scheduler to support its U.S. natural gas operations. Based in Houston, TX, the role works in a hybrid setting and ensures reliable, accurate, and well‑controlled gas scheduling and commercial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Deputy Scheduler readiness by training with the Senior Scheduler and, when activated, handle nominations, confirmations, imbalance management, and pipeline communications.
• Act as the business owner and super‑user of BASF’s natural gas ETRM platform (Entrade Enuit), managing workflows, master‑data accuracy, transaction setup, and continuous process improvement.
• Own trade confirmations, invoice validation, and settlements, reconciling transaction data and coordinating issue resolution with accounting, trading, and counterparties.
• Monitor and document operational activity, including scheduled vs. actual volumes, imbalances, and pipeline events, to maintain audit‑ready records aligned with governance requirements.
• Identify recurring issues and enhance processes, controls, and reporting tools.

Required profile

• Experience in natural gas scheduling or related commercial operations.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with traders, accounting, and other business stakeholders.
• Comfort with hybrid work environment and readiness to respond to operational events.

Required skills

• Entrade Enuit (ETRM) platform proficiency.
• Knowledge of natural gas pipeline communications and imbalance management.
• Trade confirmation and invoice validation processes.
