Commercial Loan Officer

About the role

This position is a high‑visibility opportunity for an experienced commercial lender to expand the bank’s presence in the Lafayette market and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will drive business development, manage relationships, and grow a portfolio of commercial real estate and C&I loans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and grow commercial banking relationships throughout Lafayette and surrounding territories.
• Build and manage a portfolio of CRE, C&I, and business banking relationships.
• Generate new loan and deposit opportunities through business development and community involvement.
• Structure, negotiate, and present commercial credit requests for approval.
• Maintain strong credit quality while managing client relationships throughout the lending process.
• Partner with underwriting and credit teams to ensure timely loan processing and portfolio management.
• Represent the bank within the local business community and professional organizations.
• Cross‑sell treasury management, deposit, and other banking solutions to commercial clients.

Required profile

• Approximately 5+ years of commercial lending experience, preferably in a community banking environment.
• Demonstrated experience with Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending.
• Ability to independently manage and grow a commercial portfolio.
• Existing business development network and relationship‑building capability.
• Strong understanding of credit analysis, loan structuring, and risk management.
• Self‑motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with excellent communication skills.

What we offer

• Base salary range approximately $130,000 – $200,000, dependent on experience and portfolio.
