Commercial Counsel, Bridge

About the role

Stripe is hiring a transactional lawyer to join its commercial legal team supporting Bridge, the unit building stablecoin infrastructure that helps businesses move, store and use money globally. The role supports Bridge as it develops and scales products for companies operating across markets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead negotiations for complex and strategic user and partner agreements for Bridge's commercial team.
• Advise on commercial and legal issues arising from stablecoin products, new product launches and international expansion.
• Work with Product Legal and Bridge's product and engineering teams to bring new products and features to market.
• Help build Bridge's commercial legal infrastructure, including drafting and maintaining agreements and playbooks, improving internal processes and using AI tooling to optimise client, partner and user interactions.
• Partner with teams across Bridge and Stripe globally, including commercial, operations, product, engineering, tax, compliance and risk.
• Deliver training and resources to help Bridge's commercial team sell and support its products.
• Act as a point of escalation for outside counsel.

Required profile

• Intellectually curious and a creative problem solver, comfortable with complex, fast-evolving products and the stablecoin industry.
• A self-starter with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership.
• A clear and concise communicator who can explain complex, nuanced issues simply.
• A natural collaborator who guides cross-functional teams toward win-win outcomes.
• Familiar with the legal issues and commercial risks of fintech, stablecoins, hosted data and technology services.
• Good standing membership in at least one US state bar with a JD or foreign equivalent.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in-house or in a technology practice group at a top law firm.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in payments, fintech, crypto or stablecoin businesses and knowledge of related regulatory issues.
• In-house experience advising high-growth companies.
• Working knowledge of LLM tools and experience improving legal processes with AI.
• Knowledge of data protection laws such as CCPA, GDPR and HIPAA.
