CNC Machinist - Small or Large

About the role

Marand, an Australian engineering and manufacturing company part of the ASDAM Group, is looking for a CNC Machinist to join its new Fort Worth plant. You will program, set up, support part development and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components for equipment used in defence and aerospace. The position is permanent and full time.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, develop parts and operate CNC lathes and/or mills efficiently, switching between machines as needed and running multiple machines while the primary one is in cycle.
• Check that produced components meet specifications using micrometers, Vernier calipers, gauges and bore gauges.
• Maintain production quality and minimise scrap and rework.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of output, quality, cost and delivery.
• Be flexible across machines, shifts and teams, and work collaboratively to meet production and quality targets.
• Operate equipment safely and keep the workplace clean, and help onboard apprentices and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a manufacturing environment used to low-volume batch production in hard or soft metals.
• Experience programming with Okuma controls.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T, and ability to create or develop prototypes.
• Knowledge of metals and their properties, and physically fit for the role.
