CNC Field Service Technician

About the role

Morris South, a division of Morris Group, Inc. (one of the largest machine tool distribution networks in North America), is hiring a CNC Field Service Technician in Charlotte, NC. The technician installs, repairs and maintains machine tool equipment and controls (such as Fanuc and Siemens) bought by customers, working independently to deliver high-quality service.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tool equipment and controls
• Use machine tool manuals, technical documents and vendor resources to research machine issues
• Complete and submit documentation on machine status, repairs and installations
• Promote and perform preventative maintenance and provide after-sales technical support and training
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and the company's product lines

Required profile

• Five years of experience repairing CNC machines
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
• Excellent technical, communication and presentation skills
• Able to meet physical demands, including frequent travel and driving across a regional territory
• Ability to work in industrial environments with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants and metal chips, while wearing PPE

Required skills

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other business programs
• Reading and interpreting drawings and schematics
